Lachesism
n. the desire to be struck by disaster—to survive a plane crash, to lose everything in a fire, to plunge over a waterfall—which would put a kink in the smooth arc of your life, and forge it into something hardened and flexible and sharp, not just a stiff prefabricated beam that barely covers the gap between one end of your life and the other.
LACHESISM premiered at Dixon Place in May 2016

Sinderella
A SINGLE LETTER SHIFTS THE WHOLE STORY
Once upon a time, the fairy tales told were darker and didn’t always have happy endings. They reflected lives that were fraught with everyday dangers and the fantastical unknown. Thistle challenges the since-simplified story of good little girl and evil step-mother in Sinderella.
This is a nuanced look at the complexities of non-nuclear family dynamics and examines the lengths to which we will go in order to be a “happy family”.
GRADIENT
Sexuality is a spectrum...finding your place is a process.
GRADIENT follows the protagonist on her excursion through a wonderland of sexuality, gender identity, and expression as she tries to find her place. GRADIENT’s main character is a Bi woman, who is secure in the fact that she has come out but can’t seem to find her place in the community.
Through her journey, she navigates the “almost fits” of friend groups and combats the myths, mislabeling, and erasure that come with being Bisexual to find the places and people she loves and that love her back. Ultimately, this piece centers an underrepresented protagonist and addresses the necessary complexities within our communities as we move towards acceptance and celebration.

GISELLE
This reimagined, all female version of Giselle is a journey through the ever-intangible worlds of love, loss and judgement.
Reclaiming the stripped powers of the sylph, this production explores the collective pain and power of being female, questioning and dissecting what true healing is all about.
RED
WE'RE NOT OUT OF THE WOODS
There are nuances to every relationship,
but whether or not we are privy to those details often depends on who is telling the story. Little Red Riding Hood is revamped in this daring production, questioning the reliability of the narrator who has told us our most treasured tales.

GRIM
